Martyna Borowiecka was born in 1989 in Kielce (Poland). She graduated the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. From 2019 she has a PhD in Art. Performed the Ritual named Patronki. Deep shadows fall lazily, enveloping everything around me as a part of Tool Cycle: New visualisations for activated bodies performative project on Foco Gallery in Lisbon and Goyki 3 Art Incubator in Sopot (2021). Resident Pieńków Artist Residency 2018. In 2017 she was a co-teacher at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg. Martyna Borowiecka has participated in several individual and group exhibitions, and has won many competitions such as The National Painting Competition – VII Triennial with Still Life organized by BWA in Sieradz as well as the Grand Prix of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2015), two-time winner of the Grand Prix in the interdisciplinary competition Przedwiośnie (2014, 2019) and the Equivalent Prize awarded in the 1st Lublin Spring Biennale (2021). Participated, among others: Girls + Eggs at The Art Gallery of the College of Staten Island (2022), Pharmacist at the City Museum in Tychy (2022), Exquisite Corpse Now at SNEHTA Residency in Athens (2021), On these noisy, fiery and dizzying days, I am transported in thought at the Stefan Gierowski Foundation (2021), Salon of Magical Renewal at Widna Gallery in Krakow (2021), Wasteland Survival Festival in Wrocław (2020),  SENSUALIZATION at Piktogram Gallery (2020), And if dark is not only black, what else can it be? at the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art (2020), post-competition exhibition Bielska Jesień (2021, 2019), Paint, also known as blood. Until 2020, she organized artistic events in the Telkom Telos building in Krakow, currently she works between Krakow and Wieliczka.
